Heian Sandan Bunkai - The Dragon's Tail

Here's a cool self-defense technique from Heian Sandan. In my karate training growing up, the Karate Master ability to spin quickly and counter always inspired me. They would almost vanish as they spun quickly and reappeared behind their opponent.

This kata application is inspired by all the Karate Masters that I looked up to during my training in the Martial Arts. The move is called a dragon's tail and it employs the use of a spin to escape a same side wrist grab or hold to get away from the attacker.

Pecan Crusted Chicken from the Everyday Paleo

I just got the book Everyday Paleo. This Pecan Crusted Chicken is from this book. Check the book out here.
hhttp://www.amazon.com/gp/product/098256581X/ref=as_li_qf_sp_asin_tl?ie=UTF8&tag=maxiimpakara-20&linkCode=as2&camp=1789&creative=9325&creativeASIN=098256581X

I can't wait to dig into the recipes further in this book. This recipe was so simple and it turned out delicious.

Ingredients
4 chicken breasts
1/2 cup organic spicy brown mustard
2 tbsp raw organic honey
1 cup pecans
sea salt

Pre-heat oven to 350° F. Whisk together the mustard and honey. Finely chop the pecans in a food processor. Pour the chopped pecans into another bowl and create an assembly line. Dip and coat each chicken breast with the mustard/honey mixture. Then, roll the chicken breast in the chopped pecans and coat on both sides. Finally place each piece of chicken into an olive oil greased glass baking dish and sprinkle each chicken breast with just a little sea salt. Bake at 350° F for 45 minutes or until the chicken juices run clear.

Practicing Tapouts from Guard with Limited Options

To improve your guard, you can limit the options available. This makes you work on set-ups without worrying about the other person. In this match, one partner is in the guard. The match starts with a high five. The person in the guard can resist tapout attempts but can't escape from the guard position. The match continues until the person on the bottom in guard tapouts the opponent out.
