My Favorite Wild Edible Wild Onion / Garlic

I am outside today and I want to show you one of my favorite wild edibles, the wild onion.

To identify the wild onion...
First, look for it having a bulb. Second, it should smell like onion. Finally, look for a hollow leaf.

The poisionous look alike called the Star of Bethlehem has a flattened grass like leaf and doesn't smell like onion.

You can use them for a variety of purposes. I like to add them to my morning omelet or soup. I use the stems just like green onions.

Making Homemade Fresh Garlic Powder

I made a terrific discovery today. I found that the garlic I branded and hung in the basement dried completely. It's so dry that it looks like someone put it into a dehydrator.

You can take the pieces and it crumbles in your fingers. Watch the video and see how it's done.

How to Make a Rockman Sling - Release Cord (Part 3/3)

This is the third video in a three part series that shows how to make a rock sling with twine. I've been making natural cordage and I wanted to do a project that used the cordage.

A great project for primitive living is a sling that you can use as a weapon or for hunting. I am going to show you how to make a rockman sling in this video using Jutte twine for the cords and dogbane hemp twine for the basket or pouch.

This third video demonstrates how to make the release cord for the sling.
