100 Pushup Challenge – Finale

Today is my final test for my 6-week 100 pushup challenge. Folks, this is what I’ve worked so hard for – the moment of truth. Can I actually do 100 pushups?

Last week, after performing 7 sets of pushups, I maxed at 70 so I am feeling pretty confident. In seconds, I am going to drop down and see how many pushups I can do.

Here’s the Finale. Drum roll please…

The results are in… 90 PUSHUPS

Okay, I didn’t get to 100 but going from a max 30 to 90 in 6 weeks is impressive. Now, I need to decide if I should repeat week 6 and try it again.

What do you think?

Just curious...how much time did it take you to get to 90 pushups?

I would assume, for lot of folks (including me) this is a confidence building program, So getting to 100 pushups is important. But knowing your background as a martial arts instructor, you probably don't need a boost in self confidence like the rest of us.

Hi BM,
I started six weeks ago at 30. After six weeks, I made the 90. I have a bunch of students doing it too. One other student did the final test the same day and got 90. We're repeating week six and going to try it again.

One thing that's interesting. Weeks 5 and 6 were not perfect. I added some extra rest between some of the sets if needed. I would suggest not worrying about being perfect and just continue with the six weeks. Let the exhaustion test place you in the correct category and just do your best.
